Phiwe Mncwabe is a fearless and courageous leader who considers herself as a global citizen. South African born and raised in the Western side of Johannesburg. Being born in a country like South Africa, a country institutionalized with inequalities and a history of oppression.
Born just after the release of Nelson Mandela, however still living in oppression of gender inequality, inequalities and institutionalized racism. A democracy baby “free” on a quest to freeing the nation and the world with authentic storytelling.
An African feminist, born storyteller, avid reader, unapologetic debater, content creator and dabbler. She has been graced with the opportunity to participate in numerous platforms such as SABC 2 Morning Live, Radio 702,Kaya FM, Metro FM, SA FM, Jozi FM and Westside FM. In those platforms she was engaging in discussions aimed at celebrating reading African literature ,writing and storytelling.
She has pursued her Higher educational training at the North West University VTC studying a BA Social Science in Development and Management studies (Undergraduate and Honours).
In 2017 she was awarded a Bursary at the Thabo Mbeki African Leadership Institute (TMALI) to pursue a short learning programme qualification in African feminist and Gender studies .
In 2019,the Development Cooperation and Democracy Promotion Programme of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Lithuanian Embassy South Africa and Zora Incorporated, the project implementer awarded her a scholarship to attend Transparency International School in Vilnius ,Lithuanian 8-14th July 2019, for a short course in Anti-corruption and integrity.
During the lockdown she received an ALI Online Business Development Scholarship 2020 (Aug-Sep) at the African Leadership Institute which is based in Nigeria.
She is professionally exposed to Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting and Learning in the Public and Private sector.
She is involved voluntarily in social impacted volunteering in different organizations.
In 2017 she formed an all-round female book club advocating for African literature, writing and storytelling. The book club exposed her to influential leaders and pioneers across the African continent. These influential leaders include Dr Judy Dlamini (Businesswoman, Author and , Chancellor of the University of the Witwatersrand) baba Duma ka Ndlovu(Filmmaker, Playwright, Producer and Poet),Thulisile Nhlapo (Author of Colour Me Yellow and journalist) and Thabiso Mahlape (Black Bird Books Publisher and Writer).
After the book club project, she formed her organization Botlhale Hub Afrika http://botlhaleafrika.co.za/ . Botlhale Hub Afrika is a women-led online and offline platform, African Feminist organization that seeks to address inequalities faced by women and children in Afrika. By specializing in focused storytelling ,writing and African literature. We want to be the voice to the voice less. With our tailored movement we work to strengthen writing, film making, storytelling, and African literature.
Botlhale Hub Afrika has written stories of women and men coming from different parts of the world. Countries like Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Zambia, Malaysia and many more. Our readership and viewership rank from different parts of the world. Countries like United Kingdom, India, Malaysia, United States of America, South Africa, Uganda, Nigeria, Ghana and many more.
Phiwe is a lover of African literature, writing and storytelling. She believes that we need to tell our own African stories. We need to reshape our African identity as Africans. The content that we are searching for is in our African continent. We need to change how Africa is perceived by elevating our own literature. We need to have courage to share encounters faced by African women and children. By giving them platforms to share their stories to liberate Africans.

Our advocacy involvement on the African continent
Botlhale Hub Afrika partnered with Abeyie Innovations Studio in Accra Ghana for a virtual program SheRock a 6-week virtual accelerator. It was designed for women in Africa on career breaks due to childbearing, caring responsibilities or expat repatriating with your spouse. Botlhale Hub Afrika is on a quest to raise funds to tell stories in Ghana in 2021.
