Evans A. Adu-Gyamfi is a communication practitioner with keen interest in corporate brand strategy and social research. Currently, he is the Brand Strategist for OctaneDC Limited (an investment and fund management firm regulated by Ghana’s Securities and Exchange Commission). Prior to taking up this role, among other things, he was Assistant Registrar at the Pentecost Theological Seminary (STML Pentecost University), the institution for the pastoral formation of Ministers of the Church of Pentecost, a Pentecostal denomination based in Ghana with presence in over 100 countries globally. There, he doubled as the Personal Assistant to the Principal of the Seminary.
Since March 2011 Evans has been a member of Toastmasters International with the single aim “to speak and lead well”. The US Embassy Accra-Gladiators Toastmasters is his current home club. In Toastmasters circles, Evans has become known as “the Champion of Champions” for winning the 2020 Table Topics (impromptu) speech contest for Region 11 (which covers Africa, Middle East and Pakistan). Beyond delivering speeches, Evans has coached some members and clubs based in Qatar, South Africa, India, Nigeria and Ghana.
As part of his public speaking engagements, Evans has been the guest on some of Ghana’s major
electronic media platforms, and a resource person to, among others, these institutions:
Ghana National Road Safety Authority, Ghana Institute of Journalism, Methodist University College Ghana, University of Mines and Technology, Youth Leadership Parliament, HuD Group Ghana, and Green Africa Youth Organization.
Evans, who prefers to be simply known as AGE, has also served as the Master of Ceremony (MC) or host for numerous corporate and social events. For instance, he was the MC for the International Men’s Day celebration event jointly held by UNFPA Ghana and Junior Shapers Africa in November 2020. In his capacity as the Organizing Secretary, Evans was the host for the press conference organized by the Forum of Ghanaian Elders at the International Press Centre in November 2016 as part of activities of CSOs in their call for a peaceful Presidential and Parliamentary elections. In November 2021, Evans provided leadership for the successful launch of #SpeakWell – a masterclass dedicated to equipping professionals in Ghana and beyond with the tools and skills of public speaking.
The Lead Researcher and Writer of Scopen Minds, Evans, is a member of the Ghana Association of Writers with two books to his credit: A Toast to Fatherhood: Sons and Daughters Appreciating the Fatherly Role (2016); and The Dawn of Ghana Toastmasters: In the Words of the Doyen of Public Speakers in Ghana (2019) which he co-authored with his 94-year old friend, the renowned broadcaster and commentator Mr. Joe Lartey, fondly remembered as ‘’Over to You”. Evans also has some of his articles published in Ghana’s national leading newspapers including the Business & Financial Times, Business 24 E-newspaper and on many online portals. Until early 2020, he was a columnist for Integrity Magazine.
AGE holds MA in Ministry from the prestigious Trinity Theological Seminary, Legon; MSc Oil & Gas Management from Coventry University, UK; and BSc Administration with Accounting from Central University. In 2016, he founded Great-Age Global, a Christian social enterprise with the aim to “address the needs of the elderly in society by harnessing the potential of youth power”.
Evans is married to Gifty.
